What’s on the Menu: Port of Subs | Sponsored by CasaBlanca Resort & Casino

ST. GEORGE — It’s lunchtime for the Canyon Media crew, so host Sheldon Demke took his buddy Brett Barrett to Port of Subs for another tasty episode of “What’s on the Menu.”

Port of Subs is Southern Utah’s neighborhood sandwich shop and the home of the mighty 2-foot sub, so Demke and Barrett decided to split that beast right down the middle. Demke loaded his side with chicken, pepperoni and tons of veggies, while Barrett opted for smoked ham, turkey, cheddar cheese and plenty of greens.

Take a break with Sheldon and Brett at Port of Subs in this week’s episode of “What’s on the Menu” in the media player above.

“The greatest thing about this sandwich is the bread,” Demke said. “The bread here is made fresh daily, and you can just taste the freshness.”

Port of Subs offers seasonal breads, and right now you’ve got to swing in and try the pepperoncini flavor. There’s also a selection of breakfast subs guaranteed to start your day off right. Demke and Barrett tried the peppered bacon, egg and cheese; heated to perfection, plus avocado.

“People are making all kinds of stuff with avocado – stick with the classics,” Barrett said. “You cannot go wrong.”

At Port of Subs, delicious, made-fresh-to-order subs are prepared while the customer looks on. Their unique taste comes from freshly sliced, top-quality meats and cheeses, freshly baked breads and zesty dressings and spices. Port of Subs also offers a variety of hot subs, breakfast subs, fresh salads, desserts and beverages.

Port of Subs started as a humble sandwich shop in Sparks, Nevada, in 1972. The franchise, which now has over 135 locations in seven states, has become synonymous with quality food and superior customer service over the years.
