FEATURE — This week’s planetary alignment hasn’t happened for centuries.

Gaining momentum throughout this week, Jupiter and Pluto are forming a trine. Its energetic influence will be strongest from Wednesday, May 29, through June 6, with the exact aspect occurring June 2 at 6:12 p.m. MDT.

A trine occurs when two planets are 120 degrees apart and is considered the most harmonious aspect in astrology when two planets are at their highest-vibe state of synchronicity.

While a Jupiter-Pluto trine occurs about once every 12 years, the last time Jupiter in Gemini formed a trine with Pluto in Aquarius was in the late 1700s during Pluto’s last transit through Aquarius (1778-1798.)

Financial luck is associated with this powerful transit, as well as hidden truths coming to light. Pluto trine Jupiter dramatically increases power and influence and brings about rare opportunities. It compels us to take on bigger challenges and intensifies our desire to make positive changes. People and experiences that can help us evolve are likely to appear.

Jupiter, which just moved into Gemini on Saturday, is known as the great benefic and is associated with good luck, optimism, success and generosity. Jupiter seeks to expand joy and wisdom.

Pluto, which is now retrograding through the early degrees of Aquarius, is a planet known to wipe the slate clean. Pluto is an eliminator but takes as a means for regeneration and transformation.

So when these two planets come together in a positive aspect, they work together synergistically. Pluto clears away what is no longer needed, while Jupiter brings in fortuitous events and people.

It’s time to take a hard look at our attachments, what we’re holding onto and why, as well as lingering power struggles that are harvesting vital energy stores. As Pluto pushes us to surrender, Jupiter brings opportunities for abundance in a new area of life.

This is an optimal time for creatives to put their work out into the world, and this trine increases optimism and confidence to share.

So what does all of this mean for you? Find out below.

March 21-April 19

Since Pluto entered your sector of friendships, technology and future dreams earlier this year, matters related to your connection with others have been undergoing transformation, dear Aries. Now, as it links up with Jupiter, this week is a prime time for networking. It may be that you need to create space for others to come into your life. A chance run-in with someone who will play an integral role in your life could happen. This connection is also advantageous for business. If you’ve been wanting to sell an idea, it may be time to take the leap.

It’s been a highly energetic time for you that has likely brought about immense personal growth, dear Taurus. And it may be now that you are beginning to re-think the direction of your ambition. Pluto, which entered your sector of career earlier this year, is pushing to transform your status in the world. And as it connects with Jupiter this week, be open to opportunities that may show up. For some, this could indicate a chance to make more money, which would likely require you to begin a new job, change career paths or take on a new role. For others, this is a time to recognize your worth, as limited beliefs about what you have to offer could be blocking you from going after what you truly want.

May 21–June 20

With Jupiter now in your sign, you begin this week with a fresh new outlook and a boost of energy, dear Gemini. In recent weeks, you’ve been in hibernation mode, but more so on a spiritual level, as a saturation of cosmic energy lingered in the sign just before yours. Now, with Jupiter connecting with Pluto in your ninth house, you could feel like you’re seeing a whole new world. This influence activates your higher mind, and you may now recognize certain beliefs that no longer resonate with you. Luck could come through travel or relocating. If you haven’t been in love for a while, this could be a time when you bump into someone who lights you up. Be open-minded and allow yourself to believe that dreams can come true.

Emotions are running high this week, dear Cancer. Since Pluto entered your eighth house earlier this year, change may already be afoot, especially in terms of intimacy, shared resources and self-empowerment. This ultralong transit is highly transformative for you, as Pluto is in the house it rules, supercharging Plutonian influences. And now, as it links up with Jupiter this week in your 12th house, your intuition is at an all-time high, and your dreams may feel on the border of premonitions. You may feel a need for extra sleep or at least a retreat from social activity. Pay attention to the signs, symbols and memory triggers that show up now.

July 23–August 22

Social and personal connections are central this week, dear Leo. Since Pluto entered your opposite sign, Aquarius, earlier this year, you may have begun to see the transformation happening within your one-on-one relationships. Breakups may have occurred, or you may be reassessing how you show up for a loved one. Now, as Pluto connects with Jupiter in your 11th house, opportunities abound to connect with new people, especially those with whom you share a common interest. If you’ve been wanting to partake in a group activity, this is the time to do it.

It’s time to shake up your routine to make room for higher aims, dear Virgo. Since Pluto began its transit through this sector, it’s been harder to ignore what needs to change, especially in terms of work and health. This could be a habit you need to quit or complications at work. Now, as the planet of luck meets up with Pluto, your perspective opens to the bigger picture, and your long-term goals come into view. As a sign that tends to get lost in the details, you can become over-reliant on a routine, whether it’s really working or not. You’re now taking a step back and thinking about your legacy, and from this vantage point, refining your daily life seems much more achievable. New career opportunities may arise now.

Sept. 23–Oct. 22

This week’s energy connects favorably with you, dear Libra, as both Pluto and Jupiter are in fellow air signs, Aquarius and Gemini. In recent months, Pluto has been working to transform your sector of joy and creativity, and as a result, you’ve likely been reassessing what it is that truly makes you happy. Now, this week, Pluto meets up with Jupiter in your ninth house, which is all about expanding your philosophical outlook, which spells inspiration! Use this time to step outside your comfort zone and explore new methods, mediums, colors, fashion, words — you get the picture. Creative blocks are likely to clear under this influence, as you are opening your eyes to what may appear as a whole new world.

Your intuition is turned up to the max this week, dear Scorpio. Since beginning its transit through your fourth house earlier this year, your ruler, Pluto, has been shaking up matters of home and family to strengthen your inner resilience and shore up your security. As Pluto meets up with Jupiter this week, you may see how others can help you. This could be a time when you become aware of available resources you have yet to tap, such as access to a loan or scholarship. Your power to focus and dive into the unknowable complexities could turn inward. And while many may prefer not to wade around in the emotional depths, you enjoy this intimate dance with yourself.

Nov. 22–Dec. 21

It’s time to speak up, dear Sagittarius. In recent months, Pluto has been working to change how you receive and disseminate information as part of an ultralong transit As a part of this, you may have begun to wrestle with some of your long-held convictions. Now, as Pluto connects with Jupiter in your sector of partnerships, this could be a week when you realize how some of these beliefs are affecting your relationships. It could be that you discover that you still have walls up. Perhaps you’ve been keeping a secret or disguising a part of yourself for fear of rejection. Even the bold and courageous can still feel the need to swallow the truth sometimes. But Pluto is helping you transform how you speak, and you may now find the right way to say what you need to say.

The last few months have probably felt like a sigh of relief since Pluto finally moved out of your sign, dear Capricorn. But it’s also turned your focus onto the material world and finances. Your mind could be circling income and whether you’re raking in what you deserve. Now, with Pluto connecting with Jupiter this week, you may now realize a way to reorganize your daily life to allow room for more abundance. This could manifest physically, such as deciding to sell furniture or equipment to declutter your workspace or make some extra dough to buy something you need. Or it could be about rearranging your schedule to free up time you need to develop a skill. You’re likely to feel productive, efficient and in the flow.

Jan. 20–Feb. 18

With Pluto in your sign now, you may already feel the electric charge of change, dear Aquarius. And though you are a sign known for its unpredictability, you can also be quite fixed in your ways. Because of this, recent months have likely had you on edge, as though you’ve been waiting for something to happen, or like you don’t quite recognize your face in the mirror. But this week, with Jupiter meeting up with Pluto, you’re able to funnel this energy toward something creative. And suddenly, what seemed before to be unsettling now becomes a source of inspiration. A romantic interest could blossom, or you could meet someone new who stokes your curiosity. It’s time to follow your heart.

Since Pluto moved into your 12th house earlier this year, you may have felt a sense of spiritual disconnection, dear Pisces. It may be that what used to provide a sense of comfort now feels foreign, and now you’re being pressed to let go of these attachments. Others could be dealing with a loss of some sort, which has caused a shift in faith. But now, as your ancient ruler, Jupiter, meets with Pluto this week, you feel a sense of coming back home to yourself. Reconnecting with your roots, reminiscing or spending time with family helps restore a sense of security and fills your well.
