Shortly after 1 p.m., Cedar City Police responded to the intersection of 600 South and 300 West, where a white Cadillac Escalade had collided with a blue Chevrolet Blazer.

Cedar City Police Sgt. Dustin Orton said at the scene that according to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Cadillac was heading west on 600 South when they failed to stop at the four-way stop. It entered the intersection and impacted the driver’s side door of the Blazer, which was heading south on 300 West.

“The driver of that vehicle also has undisclosed injuries, and that individual is being looked at by ambulance personnel,” Orton said of the Cadillac driver, who was later cited for failing to obey the stop sign.

None of the other occupants in either vehicle reported any injuries, Orton added.

The Blazer sustained significant damage to the driver’s side and needed to be towed from the scene. Meanwhile, the front-end damage to the Cadillac was much less serious; the vehicle appeared to still be drivable.

Traffic in the area was impacted for approximately 30 minutes while the scene was cleared.
