PINE VALLEY — The community is invited to join Dixie National Forest and Zion Forever Project at the grand opening of the new shop in the Pine Valley Heritage Center.
On Friday, May 24, and Saturday, May 25, the community is invited to the Pine Valley Ranger District with family and friends to participate in free activities, listen to live music, learn about safe recreation and enjoy fireside food, the Forest Service stated in a news release.
The Pine Valley Heritage Center is located at 132 E. Main St., Pine Valley. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and end in the evening.
Recently, Dixie National Forest and Zion National Park Forever Project announced collaborative efforts to improve recreation, education and outdoor programming for public lands in Southern Utah, the release states. The new partnership aims to promote heritage preservation within the Dixie National Forest while fostering outdoor opportunities for local communities and visitors alike.
Zion Forever Project is the official partnership nonprofit for Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument and Pipe Springs National Monument. The nonprofit will open and manage the heritage center, and the Forest Service reports that the profits will be used toward developing education programs, trail restoration and maintenance projects.
The partnership will also bring the center online for those seeking to explore the nature, recreational and historical aspects of the Pine Valley Heritage Center digitally.
