Region 9 volleyball: Reds, Thunder, Tigers, Warriors all off to winning starts

ST. GEORGE — There is a clear distinction between the teams listed in the standings of Region 9 girls volleyball a little over midway through the regular season.

Four teams — Cedar, Desert Hills, Hurricane and Snow Canyon — have yet to lose in the league and are 3-0.

Conversely, three other teams — Crimson Cliffs, Pine View and Dixie — all have yet to win in the league and are 0-4.

Following is a glance at the scoreboard and a photo gallery from the past week’s Region 9 volleyball matches, starting with Thursday night.

Desert Hills 3, Pine View 0

The Thunder stayed hot at home, sweeping Pine View 25-5, 25-15, 25-12.

Hurricane 3, Crimson Cliffs 1

The Tigers also won at home after dropping the first set 23-25, 25-13, 25-10, 27-27.

Matches from Tuesday, Sept. 5:

  • Hurricane 3, Dixie 0 (25-16, 25-20, 26-24)
  • Snow Canyon 3, Pine View 0 (25-8, 25-21, 25-16)
  • Cedar 3, Crimson Cliffs 0 (25-17, 25-7, 25-18)
