ST. GEORGE — Authorities in Ogden and family members in northern Utah are asking for help locating a teenager reported missing who has left a trail leading to Southern Utah.
Janessa Boney, 15, was last seen with her boyfriend, Andrew Shutt, 19, in the northern Utah town of Plain City on March 3. According to relatives, a debit card belonging to Shutt was used later that day at a Subway in Fillmore and his cell phone number last pinged a cell tower in Hurricane at 6:30 p.m.
Family members have not seen or heard from the two since. Boney is described as 5-feet 3-inches tall and weighing 115 pounds with brown eyes and long, dark hair. She has a smiley face tattoo on her ankle and her right nostril and upper lip are pierced.
Shutt is approximately 5-feet 11-inches tall and 125 pounds. He has both nose and ear piercings and a rose tattoo on his right forearm.
The couple was last seen driving a 2002 gold/brown Chevrolet Tahoe with a sticker on the back window of a grenade with the words “Ford Repair Kit.” The vehicle has Utah temporary license plates and the back passenger window does not roll up, according to the missing persons report.
A Facebook page created for public sightings has the youth listed as being seen in Cedar City, at the Chevron in Ivins and the Harmons in Santa Clara. They may be camping in the area, said relative Rachelle Greenwell. She told St. George News that Shutt is familiar with the area. Family members are hoping they are camping, but worry after not hearing from either one.
“I had a good conversation with the woman who said she thought she saw them in Harmon’s on Friday,” Greenwell said. “She thought they seemed happy, I hope it was them.”
Family members are asking those who may have seen the two to call 385-831-0670. St. George News confirmed with the Ogden Police Department that the case is still active.
They are asking those with information about the missing couple to call 911, report it to local authorities or call 801-395-8221 and refer to case number 23G15821.
