Linda Ann Jones

July 1942 – Dec. 20, 2022

Linda Ann Jones was born in July of 1942 and was the oldest daughter of the late Frank and Rula Jones.  She departed this earthly life on Dec. 20, 2022, at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bobby Jones and Roy (Alice) Jones; and sister, Carol Jones Vogt.

She is survived by her youngest sister, Myrna Jones Dupuis, of Murray, UT; children: Janae, Brandon, Emilie, Brandi Lynn, and Erin; brother-in-law, Curt Vogt of Tucson, AZ; nephew, Derrald Vogt (daughter Delaney) of San Jose CA; nephew, Tyler (Heather) Vogt (son Riley) of Tucson AZ; nephew: Craig (Margie) Jones of Stillwater, MN; nephew, John (Liz) Jones (children: Katie, Trevor and Erik); and grands: Addison, Ella, Elsie, Lavender and Nathan of Grand Junction, CO; as well as cousins and extended family. She loved her family very much.

Linda had a strong pioneer heritage and was very drawn to her ancestors. She was proud and so grateful to be connected to her forebears through temple covenants. Family history was a passion for her.

Linda had a long career as a dedicated civil servant, earning awards and recognition in her field. Her work enabled her to live in the Washington D.C, area for a season, and she had many wonderful experiences while there. She fell in love with Texas when she was transferred there and was a die-hard Cowboys fan to the end.

Linda was a lovely woman with impeccable taste, favoring impressionist artist and especially styles and décor from the Victorian era. She took pride in making her home a beautiful world of flowers, antiques, and art. This love of beauty was also evident in her talents of sewing, crocheting, and creating unique and stunning jewelry.  Even in her advancing years, she had an entrepreneurial spirit and was detail-oriented and passionate in her creativity.

Linda had many good friends from all over the country – even staying in touch with some from her early youth, and many from her high school years. She was a loyal and generous friend and will be sorely missed. Released from the pain and trials of mortality, she has been reunited with her loved ones and that God who gave her life.

Til we meet again, Linda. We love you dearly.

Linda will be interred in the St. George City Cemetery.
