MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — Two Colorado residents were injured just as they were about to enter Utah on Interstate 15 Monday.

“The driver said he was traveling northbound in the left lane when he lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons,” Arizona Department of Public Safety Trooper Tom Callister said.
The Nissan sedan left the road about 1/4 mile from the Utah state line and rolled several times before coming to a stop against a hill.
The driver’s girlfriend, who was asleep at the time of the accident, had to be extricated from the Nissan and sustained a serious injury to her left leg, The female was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George to be treated. The driver had minor injuries and was not transported.
Callister said the driver will be issued a citation for being involved in a collision. Both occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck.
Units from Arizona DPS, Arizona Department of Transportation, Beaver Dam Fire Department, St. George Fire Department, Utah Highway Patrol, St. George Police and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.
