ST. GEORGE – Officers arrested a 32-year-old St. George man after he allegedly held a knife to his girlfriend’s throat and threatened to kill her.
Officer Johnny Heppler said officers responded to 400 E Riverside Drive last night when a 26-year-old female said her boyfriend became intoxicated and physically assaulted her. The man allegedly punched her several times in the face before holding a knife to her throat and threatening to “slit her throat” if she called police.
Heppler said the victim suffered cuts to her neck. Property damage inside the home was consistent with an altercation.
The victim fled the residence, Heppler said, and police arrested the man without incident, who was sleeping in a bedroom. He was arrested for attempted murder, criminal mischief, threat against life, intoxication and for having a warrant. Bail was set at $16,653.
