ST. GEORGE — The Washington County Republican Women will host their yearly evening dinner social Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the Abbey Inn, located at 1129 S. Bluff St. in St. George.

The Washington County Republican Women will host Republican candidates from the county and state at a meet and greet before dinner. Attendees will hear a special message from Burgess Owens, Republican candidate for Utah’s 4th Congressional District, followed by Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox, the Republican candidate for Utah Governor.

“This is a great opportunity for citizens to meet the people behind the names that will be on the ballot in November and get to know our next governor,” Washington County Republican Women President Lesa Sandberg said.

The price of tickets for the dinner social will include a $5 donation to the Washington County Children’s Justice Center, the local charity the Washington County Republican Women are working to support in 2020. Reserve a seat online or by calling or call 435-248-2275. Tickets cost $25 for members and $28 for non-members; prices go up at the door to $28 and $31, respectively, after Sept. 29.

The Washington County Republican Women have been active in local politics for over 50 years. They seek to educate women about current issues, the political process and Republican principles. They work on campaigns and support Republican candidates on the local, state and national level. They also provide community service and scholarships through their Caring for America program. More information about meetings and membership can be found on their website.
