Utah business hosts nationwide campaign to honor fallen K9, provides protective vests for law enforcement dogs

ANNOUNCEMENT – “Doctors Vesting K9s Heroes” campaign to outfit police K9’s with bullet and stab protective vests is being held now through October 10th at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time in honor of K9 Kye of the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is the nationwide nonprofit organization and charity partner selected by Hayward DuPont Staffing to participate. The online fundraiser suggests interested persons make a tax deductible donation through the secure IndieGoGo website – Vesting K9 Heroes – where all funds will be allocated to purchase ballistic vests for the four-legged crime fighters who put their lives on the line for the community and their partner.

The goal is to raise $100,000 to provide 100 ballistic K9 vests nationwide. The campaign is in memory of K-9 Kye of the Oklahoma City Police Department who sacrificed his life in the line of duty on August 25. All vests provided with the proceeds of this event will be embroidered with the sentiment, “In Memory of K9 Kye, Oklahoma City Police Department”.

Armor Express of Central Lake, Michigan, is the manufacturer of the K9 vests.
