ST. GEORGE — The Sears Art Museum at Dixie State University will present “Rouge: Utah Women’s Voices” from June 11 through Sept. 17.

This exhibit will highlight the disparity that exists between male and female artists in Utah, where 60% of the artists are female but on average 70% of the artists exhibited are male. This will give Utah women artists an opportunity to share what it’s like to be a woman living in Utah today. Each artist will provide a piece that discusses her view of her role as a woman. With a nod to the contemporary women’s movement, each artist will include something pink in her work.

An artist panel discussion will be held on June 11 at 6 p.m., followed by the artist reception from 7-8:30 p.m.

Also on display in the Eccles Grand Foyer will be “Landscapes on Yupo” by Mel Scott and Diane Asay  and “Watercolors” by Loretta Clayson.

The Sears Art Museum is located at 155 S. University Ave. in St. George. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed weekends and school holidays. Admission is free. For more information, email [email protected] or call 435-652-7909.
