ST. GEORGE — The Sears Art Museum at Dixie State University will present “Rouge: Utah Women’s Voices” from June 11 through Sept. 17.
This exhibit will highlight the disparity that exists between male and female artists in Utah, where 60% of the artists are female but on average 70% of the artists exhibited are male. This will give Utah women artists an opportunity to share what it’s like to be a woman living in Utah today. Each artist will provide a piece that discusses her view of her role as a woman. With a nod to the contemporary women’s movement, each artist will include something pink in her work.
An artist panel discussion will be held on June 11 at 6 p.m., followed by the artist reception from 7-8:30 p.m.
Also on display in the Eccles Grand Foyer will be “Landscapes on Yupo” by Mel Scott and Diane Asay and “Watercolors” by Loretta Clayson.
