ST. GEORGE — Odyssey Dance Theatre’s acclaimed production “Romeo + Juliet – One Funky Tale” will be performed live Tuesday and Wednesday at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre in Ivins.

“As our society moves forward, Odyssey Dance Theatre is excited to lead the way with this live performance! Our dancers are so excited to perform to a live audience for the first time since our limited seating performances of Thriller in October 2020,” founder and artistic director Derryl Yeager said.

This critically acclaimed full-length piece is a classic and will entertain audiences of all ages. See what the Deseret News said was “… to die for!” Based on the Shakespearean tale about star-crossed lovers, but in the Odyssey tradition: a hip-hop, Latin and contemporary dance version! Choreographed by former Odyssey principal dancer Eldon Johnson along with sections by Ashleigh and Ryan Di Lello from “So You Think You Can Dance,” Yeager and others, this is a unique and powerful tour de force. And the audience will get to choose their own ending – whether Romeo and Juliet live or die!
