WASHINGTON COUNTY — Color Country Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit at the Washington County Fair on April 1617. This traveling museum on wheels from Maine crisscrosses the United States to educate visitors about the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes as well as serve as an official “Welcome Home” station of our nation’s Vietnam Veterans.

Vietnam Veterans who have served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of duty location (in-country, in-theater or stated elsewhere during the Vietnam War period), are being sought to recognize their service and to receive their 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War commemorative lapel pin. A personalized certificate will also be given in addition to the pin.

The Wreaths Across America mission is to remember the fallen, honor those who have served and teach the children the value of freedom. All veterans, active-duty military, their families, and all local community members are invited and encouraged to visit and take a tour of this free exhibit.

Air Force JROTC cadets from Dixie High School will be joining Color Country Chapter members to welcome all visitors and share the Wreaths Across America mission through interactive exhibits, short films and shared stories. Wreaths Across America Day, a nationwide event held every December since 2006, has been observed in St George and surrounding communities since 2010.
