Grace Episcopal Church announces Christmas schedule

ST. GEORGE Grace Episcopal Church has released its schedule for Christmas services and invites the community to attend.

“Christmas is huge. God took on human flesh and lived among us. It’s definitely ‘wow’ and ‘alleluia’ time,” said the Very Rev. Stephen Brehe of Grace Episcopal Church “‘Come, all ye faithful,’ as the hymn tells us, to Christmas at Grace Episcopal Church this year.”

Celebrate the season with Grace Episcopal by joining them at the following services:

  • The Christ Mass at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Christmas Eve begins the twelve days of this special season devoted to the birth of Christ. “Episcopalians are noted for pulling out all the stops for the Nativity and Grace is no exception,” Brehe said. The liturgy begins with Christmas caroling, followed by a festival Holy Eucharist.
  • Christmas morning at 8 a.m. we will celebrate the Holy Eucharist with beloved hymns and carols. There is no 10:30 a.m. liturgy this day.

“Grace is an inclusive Christian community,” Brehe said. “Our mission to to welcome and serve all people, regardless of marital status, age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, economic condition, physical or mental ability. In a world that too often closes doors we believe in opening them. We agree with that famous poem on the Statue of Liberty: ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free … ‘ In short, you are welcome at Grace. We believe that God delights in diversity and so do we.”

The Very Reverend Stephen Brehe is priest-in-charge at Grace Episcopal Church. Regular weekly services with Holy Eucharist are offered on Wednesdays at noon in the chapel, Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. with piano accompaniment, Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. (Rite I the traditional service), and at 10:30 a.m. (Rite II the contemporary service) with choir and organ performing. The church is fully accessible and there’s a large, convenient parking lot.
