SOUTHERN UTAH – Job posting for an IT Specialist at Garkane Energy


Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field with
a minimum of three years experience in an IT role supporting systems analysis and
telecommunication activities. Working knowledge of clients and applications, OS
systems, server management, virtualization, wired and wireless communication,
telecommunications, mobile device management, database and networking technologies
desired. Experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must have good analytic, written, and oral communication skills and ability to
communicate effectively with all technical experience levels. Must be able to prioritize
competing responsibilities, work independently, document processes, support maintain
and define operational standards. Prior customer service experience required.
Successful applicant must possess and maintain a valid Utah driver’s license and have
the ability to travel out-of-town occasionally. Offers are contingent upon completion of
a background check and passing of a drug test.


Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting and/or carrying, twisting/pushing/pulling,
kneeling, talking, hearing, visual ability and mental and emotional demands. Requires
repetitive motions with hands and fingers such as dialing and keyboarding. Must
maintain sufficient strength to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be available to work during non-working hours which may include weekends and


Responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, security, maintenance,
documentation, backups, and recovery of a multi-platform computing environment.
Environment includes virtual storage, virtual hosts, Microsoft Windows and Linux OS
servers, Microsoft and Apple clients, active directory, Oracle and SQL databases,
routers, switches, firewalls, LAN and WAN management, wired and wireless
communications, converters, IP Telephony system, mobile computing, and helpdesk.
Additional related responsibilities as assigned.


Compensation is competitive and is commensurate with education, training, related
skills, knowledge and experience.


Full-time position, deadline to apply is Jan. 27. Job can be located in the Kanab, Hatch, or Loa, UT office.
