Former Dixie State University dancer launches Kickstarter promoting paddle boards

ST. GEORGE — A former Dixie State University dancer is creating some buzz online by launching a Kickstarter for inflatable stand-up paddle boards.

Let us introduce you to Salt Boards.

“Our goal is to get you on the water,” said Salt Boards owner Erin Burk. “Let Salt Boards show you how easy it is to use your iSUP to float. We make these boards light, easy to use, and incredibly fun. Let’s get salty!”

Salt Boards is based out of St. George, Utah. Salt Boards is an inflatable stand-up paddle boarding company specializing in fresh design and educating new comers to the sport.

“Our focus with Salt Boards is to create the raddest boards on the market to help grow the sport of paddle boarding with positive, educated, first time experiences,” Burk said. “We started Salt Boards to bridge the gap between those just getting on the water, and the professional paddle boarders. We are passionate about educating our customers on best practices and the ‘how to’s’ so once they get the board, they feel comfortable and confident to get on the water.”

“We at Salt Boards also value quality,” Burk continued, “which is why we offer the best accessories such as board leashes and reliable paddles, as well as a great look.”

Burk received her bachelor’s in communications at Dixie State and knew she wanted to use her education to begin creating businesses from the ground up. With her husband, Neal,  who is also a former student of Dixie State, the two have created three successful start ups:
photoboothbus.com, roguecrew.co and now saltboards.co.
