Dixie State University hosts 5th annual Regional Symposium for Research, Innovation and Creativity

ST. GEORGE — Offering the Southern Utah community an opportunity to present cutting-edge research, innovation and creative projects, Dixie State University will host its fifth annual Regional Symposium for Research, Innovation and Creativity.

The symposium is set to take place at noon on April 23 on the DSU campus. Admission is free. The community and scholars from all academic disciplines are encouraged to attend to stimulate interdisciplinary discourse and explore the range of academic scholarship beyond the traditional classroom.

“This is a great opportunity for Dixie State and the community to connect, collaborate and celebrate the research and creative accomplishments of students, faculty and professionals in the region,” said Dr. Rico Del Sesto, director of undergraduate research and department chair of the Physical Sciences Department at DSU.

Registration and check-in are set to begin at noon in the Eccles Fine Arts Center, with oral presentations and performances beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Human Performance Center. Additionally, a reception offering refreshments, poster presentations and displays will run from 3-5 p.m. Food trucks will be available throughout the entire symposium.
