Firefighters dispatched to the scene around 4:45 p.m. were alerted to the explosions and told fire was spreading into nearby brush prior to their arrival, according to a department social media post.

The first fire units arrived within 8 minutes of the 911 call and began to attack the fire that had consumed an outbuilding. Additional resources began to arrive at the scene soon after and attacked the brush fire.

Crews were able to out out both fires, according to Hurricane Valley Fire District.

The outbuilding was said to be a complete loss, with the brush fire burning approximately 1.75 acres before it was contained and subsequently extinguished, firefighters noted.

No injuries were reported by residents or first responders and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Multiple fire crews, engines, brush trucks and other equipment from the Hurricane Valley Fire District responded, along with aid from Zion National Park, the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
