FEATURE — With the lunar eclipse now in the rearview, you might think it’s time to trust the ground beneath you — I wouldn’t be so sure. Along with Venus changing signs, Uranus, the planet of disruption, will meet the sun in the sky, triggering shocking surprises for many.

After spending about a month in Gemini, Venus will enter Cancer on Sunday, May 7, where the planet will stay until June 5. Venus is the planet associated with love, beauty, money, relationships, reception and feminine energy.

Under the influence of Venus in Cancer (a water sign known as the “Mother of the Zodiac,”) love becomes more sensitive, tender and nurturing. We’re drawn to affection with a maternal quality and may feel a heightened fondness for mother-type figures, which should make this Mother’s Day feel extra special.

During this transit, we shrink away from taking risks in love and prefer a cautious approach. On the darker side, Venus in Cancer can indicate emotional ups and downs in relationships, which may coincide with the shifting lunar phases, as Cancer is ruled by the moon.

As the week progresses, Venus in Cancer makes harmonious aspects with both the North Node in Taurus on Wednesday and Saturn in Pisces on Saturday.

In aspect to the North Node, Venus enhances the desire to connect with others and be sociable. Venus’ harmonious aspect to Saturn encourages maturation in relationships or renewals of friendships and asks us to look at relationship matters in a realistic light. As a result, relationships that fail to nourish us will be exposed, but it’s up to us to open our eyes to the truth.

Also this week, on Tuesday, the sun will form a conjunction with Uranus, the planet of quick change and revolution, in Taurus at 18 degrees. Under this influence, surprises abound, and we desire to express ourselves authentically. This could stir up some restlessness, especially around anything inhibiting one’s true identity or independence.

So what does all of this mean for your sign? Find out below.

Aries
March 21-April 19

Home is calling, and it’s never felt better, as Venus is now entering a part of your sky that deals with domestic affairs and inner security. While you are naturally prone to want to charge forward and act, this is a time to reconnect with your inner peace and find grounding. For those in an established bond, being at home with your partner will feel extra romantic. And you may feel inclined to work together to beautify a part of your home or search for a new home. Single Aries could meet someone who deals with home or radiates a nurturing energy.

Under this influence, you also may feel more nostalgic or run into someone from the past — a friend or lover — who draws out a part of yourself you haven’t seen in a while. Tuesday’s sun-Uranus conjunction is lighting up your second house of money and self-esteem, which could indicate a sudden change in finances or insight into how you might better manage your money.

Taurus
April 20-May 20

If you’ve been looking for the perfect way to say something, now is the time, dear Taurus, as your ruling planet Venus is now entering a part of your chart that rules communication, short-distance travel and perception. This transit spells “sweet talk” and you are likely to charm others with your words. Those who are single may meet someone while out and about in the neighborhood or through a sibling or cousin.

For those in an established bond, relationship issues are more easily ironed out now, as you are able to express yourself in a way that can be received in the nature it was given. On Tuesday, with the sun and Uranus conjunct in your sign, you are wanting to shed any parts of yourself that no longer feel like you. As such, you might be inspired to bring in a new color to your wardrobe or try out a new daring hairstyle.

Gemini
May 21–June 20

The goddess of love is giving a boost to your self-esteem and will have you wanting to indulge in the finer things in life, dear Gemini. It might be hard to keep your money in your pocket during this time, as you are wanting to spoil not only yourself but also your loved ones. This is a good time to dress up and spend a night out with a companion dining on your favorite dishes.

Single Geminis may see their attraction shift to those who are markedly stable or persistent. Pay attention to your dreams on or around Tuesday, as the sun-Uranus conjunction in your 12th house of the subconscious and beliefs could prompt an important message that comes when your mind is relaxed.

With Venus now shifting into your sign, dear Cancer, you are being kissed by the goddess of love. You’re likely to feel in top form during this transit and feel the eyes of admiration on you. Relationships take on a sweeter note, and you are feeling more receptive to love.

Single Cancerians should take advantage of this time and delight in the Venusian glow. Dress up in your favorite outfit and mingle. Something unexpected may occur on or around Tuesday’s sun-Uranus conjunction that reveals something significant about a friend or group with whom you associate. Perhaps a secret is revealed. Try not to immediately act upon the information.

Leo
July 23–August 22

With Venus now in a part of your sky that is considered hidden, your love life may feel a bit behind the scenes, dear Leo. Your interests are pulled into the deep waters of the subconscious, and you are wanting to spend more time doing activities that offer an escape or induce relaxation. Those in an established bond could feel more connected with a partner by engaging in a spiritual practice, whether that be meditation or a nature walk.

Single Leos could become aware of a secret admirer or become a secret admirer of someone else. For some, this could indicate a time of endings or closure, including with a romantic partner. And with this, you feel that you are now able to move forward. Tuesday’s sun-Uranus conjunction could bring unexpected news in matters of career or public status.

Virgo
Aug. 23–Sept. 22

Friendships and group associations are about to get a little livelier, dear Virgo, as Venus is now enhancing a part of your chart that favors group activities centered around a shared interest. You are wanting to pour your energy into something meaningful that benefits the greater good. And some may meet a romantic interest while they’re at it.

Love interests develop on the basis of friendship during this time, or the friendship within an established bond deepens. You are thinking about hopes for your future and how your current partner fits within that. The sun-Uranus conjunction on Tuesday may bring about a person or situation that profoundly shifts your worldview.

Libra
Sept. 23–Oct. 22

When it comes to matters of career and public status, the limelight is on you, dear Libra, as your ruling planet Venus is now transiting the top of your chart, which is all about achievement and long-term goals. During this transit, you’re being seen favorably by bosses or management and could be recognized as a result. A love for what you do reemerges.

If you’ve been looking for a job, this is the time to schedule interviews and network with people in the industry where you envision your future. While your focus is much on your career, love could be put on the back burner now. Or, for single Librans, you may meet someone through your career. Tuesday’s sun-Uranus conjunction could bring a surprise in matters of shared resources, deep research or something related to the taboo.

Scorpio
Oct. 23–Nov. 21

Your tastes are turning toward the exotic, dear Scorpio, as Venus is now transiting your ninth house of foreign lands, long-distance travel and philosophical outlook. Travel is favored now. Venus also could bring blessings to a legal matter or help you reach a wider audience.

Your attention is being pulled toward people and experiences that are different from what you’ve known and serve to enrich you at the soul level. Scorpios in an established bond should plan an adventure with their partner to do or see something new. Single Scorpios could develop a crush on someone from a culture or who has different beliefs. Tuesday’s sun-Uranus conjunction could prompt a chance meeting with someone who ultimately becomes a prominent person in your life. It’s a good day to be out and about.

Sagittarius
Nov. 22–Dec. 21

If you’ve been wanting to feel a deeper, intimate connection, this is the sky for you, dear Sagittarius, as Venus is now transiting a part of your chart that deals with intimacy and shared resources. During this time, you find it easier to smooth out the wrinkles with a loved one and heal whatever has been afflicting your bond. This is a rather spicy placement for Venus, which could see you forming a deeper intimate bond with your beloved.

You are interested in the taboo now, and single Sagittarians will likely be drawn only to magnetic attractions of a sublime nature. Tuesday’s sun-Uranus conjunction could bring a surprise around a health or work matter and prompt you to make a change.

Capricorn
Dec. 22–Jan. 19

With Venus now entering the sign opposite to yours, this transit is all about one-on-one partnerships, dear Capricorn. Whether you are paired up or single, Venus in your seventh house is encouraging you to consider how you relate to others. Romantic partnerships may deepen to another level of commitment. It’s a fortuitous time for engagements and weddings.

Single Capricorns may feel more willing to commit to a special someone during this time. If you are not with the right person, this could be a time when you decide to part ways, but it will be the better. Overall, you are feeling more harmonious and compromising. Tuesday’s sun-Uranus could prompt sudden inspiration for a creative project or a matter dealing with a child.
