CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — Washington County women no longer have to wait months to obtain a wellness visit thanks to this new health center in Ivins.

Upon opening in August 2022, Rocky Vista Health Center became the first and only full-spectrum family practice in Ivins, which fulfilled a long-awaited community need, Clinical Director, and family medicine provider, Dr. Steven Harmon said. But they’re doing much more than that.

“A key service line we provide is women’s healthcare. We frequently get feedback from Women in the St. George area, looking for a great provider to help meet their needs,” Nathan Lefevor, Senior Practice Director of Clinical Operations, said.

The staff at Rocky Vista Health Center knows how important it is for women to be seen by a provider as soon as possible, and Lefevor said most appointments can be made and seen within the same week.

Women who turn to Rocky Vista Health Center with questions about their health and well-being find expert care from a provider trained in women’s health. The compassionate medical team wants female patients to feel heard, have a plan for their well-being and be confident in their ability to live the healthiest life possible.

Health care experts at Rocky Vista Health Center understand the conditions unique to women at all stages of life, and that women’s healthcare journeys can be different from those of men. The facility provides a supportive environment for a wide range of concerns including, heart health, cancer, breast health, sexual health, osteoporosis, thyroid disease, rheumatologic diseases, multiple sclerosis and menopause.

Health care experts at Rocky Vista Health Center understand the conditions unique to women at all stages of life, and that women’s healthcare journeys can be different from those of men. The facility provides a supportive environment for a wide range of concerns including heart health, cancer, breast health, sexual health, osteoporosis, thyroid diseases, rheumatologic diseases, multiple sclerosis, infertility, endometriosis and menopause.

Rocky Vista Health Center also provides birth control services, treatment of sexually transmitted infections and gynecology. The practice has its own laboratory on-site, allowing lab work to be completed in-house. Online access to medical results provides convenience to patients, while the in-house lab saves time and money and cuts the need to drive to another location for testing.

Outside of women’s health, the complete practice also offers primary care, pediatrics and family medicine for adults and seniors, as well as telemedicine appointments.

The facility treats acute problems such as stitches, urinary tract infections and respiratory infections and also performs minor procedures like lesion removals and toenail removals. Immunizations are administered at the medical facility and a variety of physical exams are available, including those needed for sports, religious missions and employment.

Chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and chronic headaches, along with anxiety and depression, are also treated in-house, as well as preventative care such as cancer and cholesterol screenings. They also have the ability to evaluate the heart with electrocardiograms.

“We have very good patient-centered care,” Harmon said. “You’re going to feel like we listen to you, and we’re taking care of you. If you have problems, we’re going to try and solve them.”

Harmon said one of the main things his patients enjoy about the practice is that they take the time needed to listen to the unique stories of their patients and understand the full scope of their medical issues. A health care plan is then formulated together with the patient and the provider.

“It isn’t just a one-stop-shop type of medicine; we really are focused on taking individual needs into consideration,” he added.
