Led by coach Connor Brown, the Warriors enjoyed a remarkable run this year and finished as runner-ups in the 4A state championship with a 14-5 overall record. Harris, a forward, scored 19 goals during the season and was recognized as Region 10’s most valuable player.

Wittwer also made the all-Region 10 first team. A center attacking midfielder, she notched 11 goals and 12 assists this season.

Wittwer said her favorite athlete is Ashley Hatch, who played for the Cougars at Brigham Young University, where she hopes to study. Inspired by Hatch’s jersey on the U.S. women’s national soccer team, she chose to play as No. 7 this season.

Harris said her biggest role model and fan is her dad, who has been to every one of her games.

“I think he’s a little bit more invested than I am at some points!” she added with a laugh.

Harris and Wittwer played club soccer before becoming teammates at Snow Canyon, and both agreed they push each other to achieve new heights on the field.

“She’s someone I can always practice soccer with,” Wittwer said. “I feel like we just kind of forced each other to get better because we’re always so competitive.”
