CEDAR CITY – A 34-year-old Cedar City woman was arrested on drug possession and drug distribution charges on Sunday.

Roxanne Lee Shattuck was booked into Iron County Jail just after 7:30 p.m. after being arrested by officers with the Iron/Beaver/Garfield Counties Narcotics Task Force at her residence near 150 North and 100 West.

According to the probable cause statement filed in support of Shattuck’s arrest, task force officers located “a large amount” of heroin and methamphetamine at her apartment.

Shattuck willingly spoke to officers after being read her Miranda rights, the affidavit states.

“She admitted to using heroin and meth and also admitted to picking up a large amount the night prior,” an officer wrote in the affidavit. “She was honest and told agents she had some in her purse by the door, in a safe on her bed and gave us the combination to the safe in her room closet.”

Inside the closet safe, officers reportedly found approximately 15 guns, including rifles, shotguns and pistols. Agents also reportedly found marijuana, prescription narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

According to the probable cause statement, Shattuck faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, one a second-degree felony and one a third-degree felony, 15 counts of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony, and three misdemeanor counts related to possession of drugs and paraphernalia.

As of Monday afternoon, Shattuck had not made her initial court appearance.

This report is based on statements from court documents and law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
