Bry Kenney Christiansen

May 31, 1933-Nov. 30, 2022

Bry Kenney Christiansen, 89, an independent, adventurous spirit, peacefully passed away Nov. 30, 2022, surrounded by family and his wife of 70 years Joy Christiansen.

Bry was born inside his family home in Holden, Utah, on May 31, 1933, to Roy and Lucile Kenney Christiansen. He was the youngest of three children. At the young age of 1, his family relocated to Inglewood, California, where he spent the remainder of his childhood and teenage years.

After graduating from Inglewood High School in 1951, Bry moved to Utah to attend BYU. It was here Bry met his beautiful bride, Alyce “Joy” Cluff.  They were married on June 23, 1953, in the Mesa, Arizona, Temple.

After their marriage in 1953, Bry and Joy returned to California to be near family and to raise their children. In 1977, Bry and Joy then relocated their family to Utah, living in Enoch, Cedar City, New Harmony, Mona and Hurricane.

Bry enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, laughing with Joy, snuggling with his beloved dogs and riding and caring for his horses. He had a dry sense of humor and would take any opportunity to tease whomever he could.

Throughout his life, Bry worked a variety of jobs, but he enjoyed working at the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources the most. Bry was recognized for his hard work and dedication, receiving a distinguished award of achievement, from the State of Utah.

Bry was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His testimony of the gospel never wavered. He served under numerous bishops as ward executive secretary and financial clerk.

Bry is survived by his wife Joy and their six children, Dirk (Kelly), Johnna (Derek) Call, Brad (Jenny), Daven (Carlie), Nikki (Bryan) Morris and Brett Christiansen, 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bry is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Lucile Christiansen, his sister Colleen Boman and his brother Wayne Christiansen.

The family would like to thank Intermountain Homecare and Hospice, with a special thank you to Ruth Williams for her tremendous knowledge, love and support. The family would also like to thank The Haven at Sky Mountain. We are indebted for your loving service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at Serenity Funeral Home, 1316 S 400 E, St. George, Utah. A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral services at Hurricane City Cemetery, 280 E 860 N, Hurricane, Utah.
