FEATURE — Southern Utah’s live music scene is flourishing and the Canyon Media crew is back to highlighting local musicians, so gather around for another session of “Paper Jams.”
Coming to you from Cloud 9 Studios at Canyon Media, this month’s edition features Sky Allen Ledesma. Ledesma is an independent artist with an eclectic sound that blends genres, including acoustic singer-songwriter, neo-soul, reggae, blues and rock.

Ledesma is a self-described “old soul” – also the name of his 2018 album – who draws inspiration from Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Sublime, Bill Withers and Bob Marley, to name just a few. He started his set with an original track, “Discarded,” a moody and self-reflective examination of an evolving man.
It’s one of several singles Ledesma released this year. Although he often creates his own instrumentals, he has also collaborated with producers from many countries around the world.
He also performed a stripped-down cover of Morrison’s classic “Into the Mystic,” allowing his voice and guitar to take center stage.
Known for his smooth and soulful singing, Ledesma’s live shows range from quiet acoustic sets to use of a looping setup to produce a full band sound. Discover more of his original songs and covers on Spotify and YouTube.
