CEDAR CITY — Police have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of recently burglarizing several homes in Cedar City.

According to a news release issued Thursday evening by Cedar City Police, Brayden Woodhouse was booked into Iron County Jail earlier Thursday on suspicion of three counts of burglary of a dwelling, each a second-degree felony.

According to the statement, Cedar City Police received reports of multiple houses being burglarized near the 1300 North block of 300 East between Nov. 4 and Nov. 9. The suspect unlawfully entered the various homes by force, according to the statement.

“We are grateful for the officers and deputies who worked many hours to patrol the neighborhood, strategically working to locate the suspect and addressing the neighborhood’s concern for safety,” said the statement, noting that investigators had worked “tirelessly” to solve the case, specifically CCPD detectives Jake Hoyt and Matt Topham. “We are also thankful for the community’s tips that provided the information necessary to identify the suspect.”

This report is based on statements from court documents and law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
