CEDAR CITY — Four people escaped injury in a two-vehicle collision on state Route 56 on Sunday night.
The incident, which reportedly happened at approximately 9 p.m., involved a newer model gray Honda Accord and a red Dodge pickup truck.
Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Adam Gibbs said the Honda was heading south on 3900 West when its driver ran a stop sign and entered the roadway of SR-56, where it was struck by the eastbound pickup.
The truck rolled at least once after the impact, ending up on its side in the right lane. Meanwhile, the Honda ended up crashing into a culvert.
Neither the pickup driver nor any of the three occupants of the Honda reported any injuries, Gibbs said.
The driver of the Honda received a citation for failing to stop at the stop sign, he added.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
Traffic on SR-56, which was light, was impacted for about one hour while the scene was cleared, with eastbound vehicles being redirected into the center turn lane.
