What’s on the Menu: K-Eatery | Sponsored by CasaBlanca Resort & Casino

ST. GEORGE — Filled with spices, uncommon vegetables and unique preparation methods, Korean cuisine is nothing less than adventurous. K-Eatery brings those faraway flavors to Southern Utah with a fusion of traditional dishes and contemporary atmosphere.

In this episode of “What’s on the Menu,” host Sheldon Demke and Brooke Bang with St. George Musical Theater visited K-Eatery for a taste of Korean cuisine at its finest.

They started with the gimbap, a seaweed rice roll loaded with beef, fish cake, sweet radish, spinach and carrots.

Next came K-Eatery’s signature bibimbap, a mixed rice bowl with veggies and beef that’s already making a splash in the local dining scene. Bibimbap is a traditional and extremely popular Korean dish, and Demke said he was his favorite of the day’s menu items.

It would be a travesty to visit K-Eatery and not try their potstickers. “They just have the right amount of crunch, and I love it,” Demke said.

Demke and Bang also tried the tteokbokki, a simmered rice cake with gochujang. Gochujang is a savory, sweet and spicy red chili paste popular in Korean cooking. It’s exotic, highly flavorful and an experience patrons won’t soon forget.

“I’m impressed,” Bang said. “Everything was laid out perfect. I would come here again. I would bring a date here. I would come by myself if I just wanted a little happy time.”

K-Eatery is also opening a mini Korean market at the restaurant, so you can make your very own authentic Korean food at home. Come down and see what it’s all about.
