Stan Eli Klasna

March 25, 1936-July 25, 2022

For Stan Eli Klasna, life was a beautiful banquet that he shared with his loving wife and travel companion Glenna for 52 years.  His earthly journey came to a close on July 25, 2022, in St. George, Utah.  Stan” Yugoslavian heritage and family roots began on March 25, 1936, in Salt Lake City, the youngest of eight siblings.  Throughout his youth, his parents, Eli S. Klasna and Christine Helen Loushin, would instill a strong work ethic and deep respect for others.

Upon graduating from West High School, Stan enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country with honor. He was proud to be a Marine and was very patriotic. After six years in the Marines, he went on to work as a field engineer with military communication systems. His career would take him to several locations throughout the world, including Thailand. Upon returning to the United States, Stan married Glenna Petersen on Nov. 9, 1969, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He would eventually retire from the L-3 Communications Company.

Together, he and Glenna would travel in their RV across the American continent, from Alaska to south of the border through Mexico and everywhere in between. They both loved the water and were active fishing partners, boating buddies and a scuba diving couple.  As a Utah native, Stan was a true die-hard Utes and Jazz fan. With his darling Glenna, he spent many hours cheering on his favorite teams.

Stan is survived by his wife Glenna, along with several nieces and nephews. Stan, till we meet again. Know your cheerful voice, your amazing smile and your tender heart will always be with us.
