Allison Smith Tullis

May 25, 2970 – July 1, 2022

After a courageous battle with liver cancer, Allison returned home to her loving Heavenly Father on Friday, July 1, 2022.  She was born on May 25, 1970, to Phil McFate Smith and Carolyn Cardwell Smith in Newport Beach, California

She attended Bountiful elementary school, Box Elder Junior High, and graduated from Box Elder High School. She attended both Utah State and Weber State where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in history and Spanish. She went on to the University of Phoenix where she received her Master of Education and later her CDA certification to teach Preschool.

Allison married James Earl Tullis in the Logan Utah Temple in August 2003.  They were married for 19 wonderful years.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a primary teacher, Young Women’s advisor, Girl’s Camp director and Relief Society secretary. She also completed a full-time mission in the Costa Rica/San Jose Mission where she developed a love for and actively participated in the Hispanic community and culture after she returned home. 

She served in the ESL Program at Box Elder High School, worked at the Boys and Girls Club, and was currently working at Head Start in St. George.

Allison enjoyed music, theater, reading, swimming, camping and traveling. Some of her favorite times were spent going on dates and to the movies with her husband. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was great at bringing people together. 

Allison is survived by her husband, James; mother, Carolyn Smith; and sisters, Karrin Christensen (Cori) and Julianne Baham (Pat); plus her nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Phil Smith; brother, Brett Smith; and sister-in-law, Annie Smith.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Zachary Rees and the St. George IHC Cancer Hospital, Dr. Hu-Lieskovan and the Huntsman Cancer Institute, her Hospice nurses:  Janine Smith and Leora Zamora, Social Worker Jason Bohman, and all other doctors and nurses who took such loving care of her.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Mountain View Chapel, 105 Fishburn Dr., Brigham City, Utah.  Viewings will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah, and prior to the Service from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. 

An Open House Memorial in her honor will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 7 p.m. in the Brio Ward, 1080 W. Arlington St., Washington, Utah.
