Fox Sports Southern Utah first hit the airwaves in April 2021, providing fans with 24/7 coverage of local and national sports news. Canyon Media General Manager Ben Lindquist said the company saw a void in the market for high-quality sports radio that had a mix of national personalities and original programming focused on local and regional sports.

“We went with Fox Sports,” he said. “When you think about pioneers of sports talk like Dan Patrick, mixed with guys who took it to new levels like Colin Cowherd and Doug Gottlieb, it makes for a pretty entertaining day of sports talk.”

Canyon Media radio personalities Mark Musgrave, aka “The Voice You Know,” and Kaden Foremaster highlight Southern Utah’s finest student-athletes on their daily show, “From the Bleachers.” The program offers something for just about everyone, from players and parents to football fanatics and basketball enthusiasts.

“From the Bleachers” covers the best in Region 10 high school sports as well as Utah Tech University and Southern Utah University college athletics. The hosts also discuss pro sports teams like the Utah Jazz, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Musgrave and Foremaster position themselves as enthusiasts rather than experts. After all, they’re just a couple of local guys sitting in the bleachers with the rest of the fans.

“From the Bleachers” is the place where Southern Utah sports fans can let their voices be heard. The show is live, local and airing Monday through Friday from 4-6 p.m. Call in at 435-990-9950 to chat about the teams, players and stories that get you excited.

“From the Bleachers” started off strong with monthly Monday Night Football watch parties at the Eureka Casino Resort in Mesquite, Nevada. The hosts gave away overnight stays and gift certificates along with Raiders swag packages.

Musgrave and Foremaster broadcast live from Region 10 football and basketball games through the fall and winter and returned to the Eureka for a live broadcast and celebration on Super Bowl Sunday. They’ve also given away Jazz tickets during basketball season and welcomed special guests to the studio, like Raiders insider Your Boy Q and six-time MLB All-Star José Canseco.

“We get to do something we enjoy doing every single day for our job. Not a lot of people get to say that,” Foremaster said. “Mark and I are going to talk about sports regardless, so the fact that we get a platform to be able to do that is just so much fun and cool.”

Musgrave, who has been involved with Region 10 sports for more than a decade as a coach and Desert Hills High School’s announcer, said he’s particularly proud of their coverage of baseball season. They broadcast live from every 4A playoff game during the state championship last month.

“Getting to know a lot of our Region 10 players and coaches on a more personal level is satisfying to me,” he added. “We’re looking forward to growing on what we did in our first year and continuing to provide local sports content to Southern Utah.”

Over the next few months, Musgrave and Foremaster plan to beef up their coverage of pro sports. They’ll also be hosting a one-year anniversary party for “From the Bleachers” with exciting giveaways. Stay tuned.

Fox Sports Southern Utah broadcasts on 99.5 FM in St. George and 93.1 FM/1400 AM in Cedar City. Tune in or listen live on the web. Past episodes of “From the Bleachers” are available anywhere you listen to your favorite podcasts, including Spotify, Apple Podcast and Google Podcast.
