Nestled in the scenic Hurricane Valley, The Haven welcomes older adults opening a new chapter in their life’s journey. It’s not your ordinary retirement community.

The Haven is now accepting reservations for the Villas at The Haven, a collection of 18 independent living units. These beautifully appointed villas have been designed to meet the needs of older adults seeking to downsize and more fully enjoy their “golden years” in a carefree community and environment.

“The villas are for seniors looking to simplify their lives,” executive director Andy Palmer said. “Our goal is to provide a carefree lifestyle where residents can maintain their independence while enjoying all the features and amenities of The Haven.”

Located just across the street from the assisted living and memory care community, the villas offer freedom from the everyday hassle of homeownership with access to resort-quality amenities. All meals and activities at The Haven are included, along with transportation services.

Each two-bedroom unit boasts nearly 1,400 square feet of open living space featuring high ceilings, a full kitchen, a laundry room, front and rear covered porches and an oversized single-car garage with storage space. The villas have their own clubhouse, pool, pickleball courts and pavilion.

All utilities, including TV and internet, are included. The Haven also provides weekly cleaning and laundry service plus a 24/7 emergency alert system and security for added peace of mind.

Residents are expected to move into the first phase of the villas later this month, and a new phase will open every month afterward. For a limited time, all new bookings will receive a $2,500 gift card to Stout Home Furnishings in Hurricane.

The Haven is a dynamic, state-of-the-art independent and assisted living community. Residents enjoy a spacious open floor plan with common areas, a group dining room and large bay windows to let in an abundance of natural light. Spectacular views of Zion National Park and the Pine Valley Mountains accent a dining patio, vegetable garden and fishing pond.

Amenities include a putting green, billiards room, movie theater and full-size gymnasium for residents to use. The staff also provides a myriad of activities, programs and entertainment options for residents, like weekly outings to Zion and Snow Canyon State Park.

The Haven also encompasses a 12-apartment memory care community with a Montessori program for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Care focuses on people-centered activities to stimulate the senses and promote physical, emotional and social well-being.

The Haven is unique among retirement communities in the area because it’s locally owned and operated, Palmer said. The owners are deeply involved both with operations and the residents themselves.

“You’ll walk in the door and feel the difference in how we treat our staff and our residents,” he added.

The Haven was voted Southern Utah’s best assisted living community in 2021 and 2020. Palmer said he could talk endlessly about the benefits of life at The Haven, but that story is more aptly told by its many happy residents.

Ceil brought a lot of her own furniture when she moved in, which helped her feel more at home as she settled in. She enjoys socializing with other residents and the activities available for different interests, from quilting and billiards to bridge and Mexican Train.

“I’m just comfortable here,” she said. “I just think it’s a blessing I was able to get in here.”

Another resident, Doreen, particularly relishes the dining experience.

“The way they’ve decorated the tables and made us feel that it’s home and the quality of the food surpasses anything I ever expected,” she said. “I’m just thrilled every night to see how the chef has put it together.”

The founders of The Haven have spared no expense to deliver an active lifestyle with family-like care and support. From your first visit to move-in day and daily living, the caring staff will have your needs and wants covered.
