From the moment you walk in, their mission is to care for your oral health in an efficient yet gentle manner. They utilize the latest technological advancements, including laser dentistry, to deliver advanced accuracy and comfort.

Common Sense Family Dentistry provides patients of all ages with a high standard of professional, understanding dentistry and efficient service. Dental assistant Mary Putnam said Stucki’s commitment to patient comfort and care sets him apart from other dentists in the area.

“He cares about everybody and wants the best for every patient,” she added. “He’s one of those ‘good old boys’ who just wants to do the right thing.”

Stucki’s approach to dentistry exemplifies the name of the practice, Putnam said. He makes sure every patient knows what care they need, whether necessary or preventative, and guides them to choose the best treatment plan. Moreover, he’s someone that patients think of as a friend.

Between 5% and 15% of people worldwide admit to suffering from severe dental anxiety, which may result in delaying treatment or simply not going to the dentist at all. Many patients dread the pain caused by the initial injection of anesthesia before a procedure begins, so Stucki and his team strive to make every aspect of treatment as painless as possible. In fact, Stucki is known by many as “Dr. Painless” because of the injections he administers using an electronic single-tooth anesthesia system.

Seeing the dentist isn’t scary unless you’ve stayed away for too long, but neglecting routine care opens the door for minor issues to develop into serious problems.

Along with general dental care, Stucki’s continuing education allows him to perform orthodontic treatments, root canals and implants, so many patients can receive these services at his office rather than needing a referral to another clinic.

He served as the Utah president of the Academy of General Dentistry and is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Utah Dental Association. Membership in these prestigious associations helps him incorporate the latest techniques and technologies into his practice.

Stucki was born and raised in St. George. After completing dental school at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, he returned to his hometown and opened a small clinic on Diagonal Street in 2002.

He practiced dentistry for two years and found that patients wanted more, so he started incorporating state-of-the-art technology into his practice to facilitate painless dentistry. As patient needs evolve, Stucki and his team have dedicated themselves to creating the best possible environment for family dental care.

Stucki relocated the practice to Bluff Street five years ago, where it now occupies the entire fourth floor of the Ence Executive Towers. The new clinic features a stress-reducing design, a calming color palette and a high-tech setting.

Ten treatment rooms are equipped with the latest and best in dental technology, including anti-fatigue chairs to keep patients comfortable even during extended visits. It’s also the only dental office in St. George with a balcony offering beautiful views.

Common Sense Family Dentistry is celebrating 20 years in business as well as Stucki’s 50th birthday with a community party on May 11. There will be bounce houses, pizza, cake, prizes and fun for the entire family at Highland Park in Washington City.

Both current and new patients are welcome. If you haven’t found a dentist you love, stop by between 5-7 p.m. to meet Stucki and his team and see why Common Sense Family Dentistry is the best choice.
