ST. GEORGE — Four children reportedly are safe and two adults are in custody following a  statewide Amber Alert issued early Wednesday afternoon.

The now-canceled alert stemmed from a Salt Lake City court hearing Wednesday morning, after which it is believed two women reportedly fled with the four young children.

According to the alert, the state Division of Child and Family Services was awarded custody during the hearing, but the mother and grandmother refused to turn over the children and instead fled the scene at approximately 10 a.m.

The suspects are identified as Yaneli Murillo, 22, and Maria Murillo, 38. The women may have been driving either or both of two vehicles, one a 1999 gray Dodge Durango and the other a 2004 tan Ford Explorer.

The children were identified as Aaron Murillo, a 2-month-old baby boy; Oaklee Murillo Becerra, 2-year-old girl; Librado Becerra Murillo, a 9-year-old boy; and Roda Becerra Murillo, an 11-year-old girl.

According to the alert, law enforcement officers have credible reason to believe that the children’s lives are in imminent danger.
