Members will soon have even more options for staying active with the addition of a state-of-the-art facility on the west side of St. George. Summit’s fourth location, near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Tuweap Drive, is slated to open toward the end of the year. The two-story, 35,000-square foot facility will be loaded with new equipment, functional training rooms, child care, dance rooms, a pro shop, a smoothie bar, a recovery room and much more.

“What makes this one great is that we’ve been able to look at all of our clubs and see what’s successful,” fitness director Megan Dutson said. “We’ve built it from the ground up and put in what our members want.”

In the meantime, their largest location on River Road is undergoing exciting improvements. The outdoor pool space has been completely revamped with a new pool and a larger area for families. The renovation is expected to be complete at the end of March, just in time to enjoy Southern Utah’s warm spring days.

Summit is also expanding the outdoor turf area and adding more activities for families, including cornhole. The tennis and pickleball courts will be resurfaced, and Dutson said they’re working on adding more gym space.

“We want to give the members more of what they’re using.”

People are far more likely to reach their fitness goals when they enjoy working out. With a huge variety of activities to choose from, Summit gives members the freedom to find what keeps them motivated, whether it’s running, lifting weights or grooving at dance fitness classes.

“We’re a one-stop shop,” general manager Cally Peterson said. “We offer every boutique gym style inside one location.”

Peterson said the club has something for everyone, including kids and seniors. Whether they’re looking to lose weight, train for a specific fitness goal or simply become more active and meet new people, they’ll find it at Summit. From a spin room and yoga studio to tanning and personal training, endless possibilities are all wrapped up into one monthly fee. More than 180 fitness classes are offered every week between the three locations.

Unlike a gym or recreation center, Summit strives to offer fitness solutions. Their trainers and instructors work with members to help them achieve a complete healthy lifestyle.

“We’re lucky to have great people,” Peterson said. “Not only do we take pride in what we offer here, but we take pride in our staff as well. I feel like our staff is what sets us apart from everybody else.”

Summit has revolutionized the fitness industry in Southern Utah for nine years and counting. Today, their community of members is more than 15,000 strong.

“Whatever you’re looking for – to make yourself healthier, to feel better, to enjoy fitness – we have it here,” Peterson said.

Summit keeps improving to help its members keep moving. Join the movement at any of their three St. George locations – River Road, Bluff Street and Sunset Boulevard – or visit the club’s website for a three-day complimentary pass, which includes a tour. On member appreciation days, which are the first and 15th of every month, nonmembers can accompany a family member or friend who has a Summit membership for free.
