“Our design studio is the best one in the area,” said Austrie Messer, the design studio manager for Visionary Homes in St. George. “We have so many different resources that we’re able to use here to really help the clients visualize everything. We sit down with our buyers, walk them through their wants and find out where they spend the most time in their home.”

Today’s buyers are gravitating toward very Zen interiors, Messer said. Many newly built homes feature neutral and natural colors and finishes incorporating blues, greens, creams, blacks, light wood stains and organic textures.
“People really want interiors that can help them relax,” she added. “And the great thing about a neutral base is that it creates a platform for them to decorate and buy furniture in whatever colors they want while keeping a home style that’s trendy.”
Looking ahead, Messer anticipates seeing more pops of color making their way into Southern Utah interiors – bolder hues and more personality transforming mostly white kitchens.
“A lot of people are taking an optimistic view to 2022, and that will be reflected in home design,” she added.
When it comes to designing your dream home, Messer said the most important thing to remember is to add what you love, not just what’s popular.
