CEDAR CITY — Two vehicles were heavily damaged in a collision on Cedar City’s Main Street on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the intersection where 300 West / Sunset Drive crosses Main Street at 820 South. It involved a black Chrysler 200 sedan and a blue Chevrolet SUV.

Cedar City Police officer Charles Pettit, who investigated the crash, said the driver of the Chrysler was heading west and attempting to cross Main Street onto 300 West when the car was struck by the southbound Chevrolet.

Nobody in either vehicle was injured, Pettit reported, adding that no citations were issued.

Traffic in the area was impacted for approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleared. The Cedar City Fire Department personnel assisted with the cleanup. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage and needed to be towed from the scene.
