Primrose is committed to providing happy, healthy and purposeful living for seniors. Communities are designed to meet the current and future needs of all independent living, assisted living and memory care residents.

“We’re looking for really passionate, excited people to come work with us,” executive director Kristen Gentry said.

With this in mind, Primrose is holding a job fair at their Washington location on Nov. 1. Job seekers are invited to stop by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. or from 4-6 p.m. to interview for a variety of openings. Gentry recommends uploading an application online ahead of time and bringing a printed resume. There will also be computer kiosks available on-site for submitting applications electronically.

Primrose is hiring certified nursing assistants, resident aides, cooks, housekeepers and bus drivers. All employees are required to wear masks.

Gentry said the company’s core values focus on constantly improving and embracing change. As managers, she and her team are always willing to hear what their employees have to say.

“They’re the ones that work the floor. They’re on the frontlines,” she said. “They’re the most important people in the building, and we value them for that.”

As the Washington community continues to expand and welcome more residents, Gentry said management positions will be opening up. For employees looking to further their career in the field of senior care, a job at Primrose provides a solid starting point.

“If they start with us from the beginning, they have an opportunity to grow with us.”

The St. George area has many retirement communities, most of which are larger facilities. At Primrose, employees interact with residents in a more intimate home-like environment. They get to know their routine and the activities they enjoy and form lasting bonds.

As a Midwest-based company, values like hard work, respect and accountability are evident in Primrose’s services. Gentry said that while she doesn’t expect every new hire to share her tremendous enthusiasm for senior care, she hopes to find employees who are dedicated to their work, whether they’re preparing delicious artisan meals or helping coordinate activities.

“One of our core values that I look for is passion in whatever you do,” she added. “I can train many things, but I can’t train passion.”

Primrose has been enhancing the lives of seniors for more than 30 years, growing from its first independent living community in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to 41 communities across 19 states employing over 1,600 people.

Adam Jones, regional sales and marketing manager for Primrose, said that “community” isn’t part of the company’s name by accident.

“At Primrose, you feel a part of a community,” he said. “We really get to know our residents, from their hobbies and interests to their favorite foods, and it feels like a family, not just a retirement community. It feels like home.”

The Washington community includes 44 assisted living apartments, 26 memory care apartments and 16 townhome villas. Residents enjoy the privacy of their own spacious living arrangements with access to artisan dining, nursing staff available 24/7 and a calendar full of hobbies, events and new adventures.

The Primrose team believes that a sense of purpose and quality of life should be maintained at any age. By embracing a person-centered approach to care, the company facilitates opportunities for residents that encourage engagement, lifelong learning, creativity and much more.
