ST. GEORGE —A serious crash has closed Interstate 15 southbound near the Utah-Arizona border late Monday afternoon.
According to an alert released by the Arizona Department of Transportation, the incident occurred at milepost 16 on I-15 southbound at approximately 5:42 p.m.
The northbound lanes are not affected, according to to ADOT.
Sgt. John Bottoms with the Arizona Department of Public Safety said around 6:27 p.m. that they currently have a commercial vehicle rollover collision southbound in the gorge at mile marker 16.
“The collision is blocking both southbound traffic lanes and will be for the next 45 minutes while we get a tow truck and equipment to remove it from the highway,” he said.
