ST. GEORGE — A man was arrested by Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies after a traffic stop led to the location of marijuana and narcotic items.

Deputies saw an item mounted to the windshield of the vehicle traveling north on Interstate 15 Monday shortly after 4 p.m., according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. The item seemed to be obstructing the driver’s view.

A traffic stop was then conducted near milepost 27 in Littlefield, Arizona, and deputies made contact with the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was identified as Abdallah Ranez Mohamed Kandil, 28, of Mankato, Minnesota.

When asked for his driver’s license, Kandil provided a student ID and an international driver’s license. He was unable to provide necessary documentation for the vehicle.

Deputies advised him that his car would be impounded after a records check revealed he had a suspended driver’s license out of California.

Deputies observed Kandil’s hands shaking and noticed the overwhelming odor of air freshener inside the vehicle, according to the press release.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located 68 pounds of marijuana in multiple vacuum-sealed bags and 700 narcotic oil vape cartridges.

He was arrested without incident and booked into the Mesquite Jail for marijuana violation, marijuana possession for sale, marijuana transportation, narcotic drug possession and possession for sale, narcotic drug transportation and drug paraphernalia possession, which are all felonies.

He was also booked for failure to show a driver’s license and driving on a suspended license — both misdemeanors.

I wonder if MN has gotten as big a load of Islam as it has due to the location of the Mayo Clinic. The Saudis and any ME person with $$$ was heading there in droves. Went by there, my Grandmother-in-law lived nearby. Lots of hijabs out and about, this going back to the 1990’s. This guy appears to be a black sheep, I wouldnt consider them as license suspended drug runners, generally. They have now elected a Somali hijab wearing Senator who has made anti-Semitic tweets. SHEESH – and yes, keep an eye out!

My head is up and wide awake. Do you expect me to tolerate intolerance? That’s not how any of this works.

Probably driving it to colorado. They probably make a ton more selling it to the legal market than they would selling it on the streets.

Nah, taking it to Canada. Since they legalized it, stores ran dry in two days! 😉

the legal mj business has become a racket. One of these days when the stuff is mass legalized and farmed on an industrial scale it’ll be priced closer to what it’s worth. And clowns like this and worse will be out of business

        • Carpe Diem December 20, 2018 at 9:11 am

A racket, agreed. However legalization simply means it’s a protected racket. Look at the price of wine and beer. For instance, a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is about $2 at the Utah State liquor store. On the other side of the border, at the Smith’s in Mesquite, they are about half that. Just an example, but you can extrapolate from that, and figure what MJ sales will look like in the future in this State. The profits arent passed down to employees! 🙁

“As if that weren’t enough, the liquor commission also heard that alcohol sales at Utah restaurants, bars and its state-controlled liquor stores may have reached nearly $454 million during fiscal 2017-18, which ended June 30.

While the official totals won’t be available until September, liquor seems to be surging in the Beehive State, said John T. Nielsen, chairman of the state liquor commission. “It sounds like we are financial healthy and getting more so every day.”

          AND YET:

“Part-time liquor store employees in Utah average $9.31 per hour. “
