ST. GEORGE — Police say a T-bone collision occurred at the intersection of River Road and Foremaster Drive Sunday afternoon when two cars crossed the intersection simultaneously.
A 19-year-old woman driving a silver Hyundai Elantra was traveling east on 700 South straight through the intersection to Foremaster Drive and collided with a gray Mazda3 being driven by a 22-year-old woman who was traveling north through the intersection on River Road, St. George Police Sgt. Spencer Holmes said.
The Hyundai hit the side of the Mazda3, sending it over the sidewalk and into the landscaping by the Dixie Regional Medical Center sign.
Medical personnel from Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the crash, but no injuries were reported.
Police say it’s unclear which driver was at fault.
“They both collided at the same time in the intersection,” Holmes said.
Neither driver has been issued a citation at this time, as the incident is still under investigation.
Emergency personnel from St. George Fire Department assisted police and EMTs at the scene of the crash.

Interesting how most of the responses here are by people who have thoroughly investigated this incident and have determined it was caused by cell phone use. You have all saved the local police department so much in manpower. You should be commended. You so smart!
Well Mike, I did a scientific study. Yep. 40% of drivers . 100 drivers randomly observed, 40 were clearly on cellphones on Red Cliff drive. Published in st George independent earlier this year. So yeah, we got a problem in this town. It is illegal to drive using your cellphone manually, though a secondary offense. And if you drive with your cellphone Mike, time to change . Get a bluetooth connection device if you don have one. On the other hand maybe you never use your cell while driving. So not accusing. Equivalent to driving on half a 6 pack of 3.2% beer. Note, catching a person with a cellphone is not easy. So most cellphone violations go unreported. But guess what, you can subpoena cellphone records in regards to a serious accident. I was rear ended by a jerk on Bluff this year and it was a hit and run. And yes, distracted driving was the cause. So I have a personal vendetta against people that drive with a cellphone.

Sign sign , everywhere a sign / blocking out the scenery breaking my mind / do this, dont do that can you read the sign? Replace Sign with Cellphone. Look around while waiting at a stoplight in this town. Unless you are alone and its say 6am in the morning, the odds of witnessing a driver illegally using a cellphone in your visible range is almost 100% per 5 vehicles. You can make a game out of spo the illegal cellphone user for the kids to have fun. Note double points if they are texting or searching for messages.
