ST. GEORGE — The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a red flag warning for wind and low relative humidity in southwestern Utah.
The warnings will be in effect from 3:07 p.m. Tuesday to 10 p.m. Saturday.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or are imminent. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Affected areas
The red flag warning is in effect for Fire Weather Zone 497 the Mojave Desert, most of Washington County including St. George, and Iron, Beaver and Garfield counties.
Winds
The affected area will experience southwest wind between 10-20 mph with gusts reaching up to 35 mph.
Relative humidity
Afternoon minimum humidity will be 6-10 percent with poor overnight recovery.
Impacts
Any fires that develop will have potential to spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
