CEDAR CITY — A brush fire along northbound Interstate 15 in Cedar City is causing delays for motorists through the area Sunday evening.
Firefighters from the Cedar City Fire Department are battling the fire near mile marker 58 on northbound I-15 as of 7 p.m.
A Cedar City News reporter on scene said the fire is burning brush and weeds along the freeway, up to a concrete barrier that lines the backyards of area residences.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation, traffic through the area has been reduced to one lane, with the outside lane closed to allow access for firefighters.
UDOT expects the road to be cleared by approximately 8 p.m., but delays are expected in the meantime.
