Warnings and advisories

Two hazardous weather outlooks are currently in affect for Utah.

hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the areas of eastern Utah and western Colorado, including the northwest and southwest San Juan mountains, San Juan River Basin, Four Corners, eastern Uinta Mountains, eastern Uinta Basin, Tavaputs Plateau, Arches/Grand Flat, La Sal and Abajo Mountains and Canyonlands/Natural Bridges.

According to the outlook, showers and thunderstorms will develop over the San Juan mountain range as well as the central mountains Saturday afternoon.

High pressure to the south keeps the mostly quiet weather going through next week with the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms continuing each afternoon. Winds become gusty for the start of the workweek across eastern Utah and northwestern Colorado.

Another hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the western two thirds of Utah. According to the outlook, isolated thunderstorms will bring a threat of lightning and gusty winds to the higher terrain of Southern Utah Saturday.

Gusty south winds and low humidity will result in critical fire weather conditions across northwest and west central Utah Sunday afternoon and evening.
