Fire and firework restrictions

Before purchasing and lighting fireworks in your area, make sure to read up on restrictions regarding when and where fireworks are legal.

Also, according to a new law passed during the most recent Utah legislative session, fireworks can only be discharged between July 2 and July 5, and between July 22 and July 25.

For a list of firework restrictions by city click here.

Fireworks and campfires are banned in all state, federal and other unincorporated private lands within Washington, Iron, Kane, Beaver and Garfield counties. This ban was ordered on June 1 by the Utah Department of Natural Resources and does not affect land within towns or city limits.

In Clark County Nevada which includes Mesquite and Moapa, fireworks can legally be lit from June 28-July 4 at midnight. A post from the Clark County website said this:

Use only fireworks labeled “Safe and Sane” and only the way they are designed. “Safe and Sane” fireworks are legal for use in Clark County and neighboring jurisdictions only from June 28 through midnight July 4. “Safe and Sane” fireworks are sold only by authorized vendors who are permitted to sell them. Remember: No fireworks of any kind, even those labeled “safe and sane” are ever allowed on federal lands including Red Rock, Mt. Charleston, and Lake Mead.

Just want to say thank you to Dr. Booth for having this flag pictured in the article put up. It makes the skyline drive looking over St. George that much prettier.
