UPDATED: 23-year-old Amanda Matthews found dead

ST. GEORGE — St. George Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who went missing near Tuweap Drive.


Update June 25, 1:35 p.m. Amanda Matthews was found dead Monday of apparent suicide.


Amanda Matthews, 23, was reported missing Wednesday.

Matthews is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone who has information about Matthews’ whereabouts is asked to contact the St. George Police Department by calling 435-627-4300.

    It’s always awful to hear that a missing person is found dead. It hits me a little bit harder when its because they took their own life.
