ST. GEORGE – North and southbound Interstate 15 will be temporarily closed from mile markers 120 to 122 through Mesquite, Nevada, on the nights of June 12 and 13. The closure is due to the need to replace a power pole holding lines that cross over the interstate.

The two-mile segment of I-15 will be shut down between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on both nights, according to a statement from Overton Power District No. 5

The district will be replacing the pole carrying a 69-kV line.

During the road closure, motorists on I-15 will be rerouted to Mesquite Boulevard.

The days and hours of the project are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen delays, according to the statement.

For additional information, contact the Overton Power District’s Mesquite Engineering Coordinator Boyd Evans via email at [email protected] or by telephone at 702-491-5134.

Overton Power District No. 5 can also be reached at its Overton, Nevada, office at 702-397-2512 and at its Mesquite office at 702-346-5710.

“Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during the project,” the statement reads. “Please notify family, friends and neighbors of closure and avoid traveling in the area if possible.”
