ST. GEORGE — The Zion Lions semipro football team finished its regular season with an unbeaten record, thanks to a come-from-behind 14-10 win over the Wasatch Revolution Saturday in Ogden.

Zion Lions owner and head coach Dale Stott said the Lions fell behind 3-0 on an early field goal by the Revolution, but got on the scoreboard with a 52-yard TD pass from Michael Matalolo to Justin Fulton that made it 7-3 in favor of the Lions.

Wasatch then scored on a touchdown pass to take a 10-7 halftime lead.

During the fourth quarter, running back Prentiss Miller scored a 20-yard rushing TD to put the Lions back on top, 14-10.

“After that, our defense just held them,” Stott said.

At quarterback this season, Matalolo threw a total of 23 touchdown passes and only four interceptions, his coach said.

With the victory, the Lions finish their regular season with a perfect 8-0 record and ensure themselves a spot in the South Western Football League’s championship game, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 16 at Pine View High School. Their opponent is yet to be determined, pending the outcome of another playoff game next week.

Last year, playing in the Rocky Mountain Football League, the Lions went 9-1 on the season and won the league championship.
