SALT LAKE CITY — Nearly 50 people were arrested during a four-day prostitution sting operation in Salt Lake City that ended Friday.

Dozens of women made agreements with men that they had no idea were police, and undercover female officers walked the streets making deals with unsuspecting would-be customers, FOX 13 News reported.

During the operation, which took place throughout the Salt Lake Valley, officers searched hotel rooms and the streets for those involved with prostitution, Salt Lake police detective Greg Wilking told KSL Friday.

“We have religious leaders, politicians, your homeless, your average Joe out there,” Wilking said. “We have everybody that solicits prostitution, all different walks of life, as well as the women that are engaged in prostitution come from all different walks of life.

“The prostitution isn’t going away, but neither are we. We’re going to continue to focus on that.”

I guess, I’ll never understand prostitution as a career or the men that pay prostitutes. It just seems so unsafe. Like diseases and stuff. I mean, thet are all at risk of getting STD’s.

Let’s use Charlie Sheen as an example. Sure he can afford HIV drugs, but not everyone can and that’s just scary that people are spreading diseases around.

The STD’s can be quite bad. I suspect that charlie sheen got involved in the LA “gay scene” or he might have picked up his HIV from injecting heroin. So long as there is sex there will always be prostitution in one form or another.

Sheen is one of the most despicable humans in the USA and I suspect he got it from unprotected gay sex. With that lifestyle it doesn’t matter. I’m just glad he is out of sight nowadays. As far as these perps go, usually naming and picturing their mugshots goes a long way in stopping people in the future – or so it SHOULD. This is missing here.

That’s what I suspect, and I’m not a fan. Whenever I see reruns of that show ‘two and a half men’ I wonder how many women charlie sheen infected with his HIV AIDS, because from what I’ve heard charlie was/is(?) a very promiscuous man (in his real life as well as that TV show), whether that included many gay men I have no idea, but it is a rather unsettling thing to thing about. From what I understand the modern HIV medications are very effective, but still they retain extremely unpleasant side effects for as long as the patient takes them, which is usually forever since there is no cure. Charlie likely did a good number of people a great “disservice” by infecting them with his HIV/AIDS, if that is the case.

I thought there was at least one case against him for HIV infection / not telling, which also USED to be a crime… (Thought that was decriminalized recently, in CA — SMH )

Going back, I recall he used to hire lots of hookers, then he actually had TWO porn stars tag along with him always, while he had wild drug / sex parties over a period of years.

This lawsuit still ramping up: People dot com

“Charlie Sheen Claims Ex-Lover Suing Him Is a ‘Professional Hooker’ Who Knew He Was HIV-Positive // Charlie Sheen is firing back against a woman who claimed he exposed her to HIV by failing to disclose his diagnosis to her.

The anonymous woman, identified as Jane Doe, sued Sheen last June, alleging he lied about being HIV-positive and exposed her to the virus during unprotected sex. (The suit did not explicitly state whether or not the woman contracted HIV.)”

Ladybug, I don’t completely understand prostitution either, and I would never pay for their services, it is however one of the oldest professions on Earth. Also, a lot of people think all women got into prostitution to help pay the bills, got in desperate times, etc… and maybe that’s true in many cases, but some of them actually enjoy their “job” however wrong it may be, and they are not looking for someone to “save” them. They actually enjoy what they do. Not saying I agree with it, but it’s still true.

FWIW, MOST women … the ones who say they love it …aren’t actually in love with the act. It’s more about where else can you make over 200 an hr amd make your own schedule? Hard to make minimum wage after that kind of income.
But besides that a person is more likely to catch an std from regular or casual sex than with a hooker. Gooy wouldn’t believe how many guys beg for a bare session but anyone that professionally does it knows the risks aren’t worth their lives.
Lastly, many many many women are stuck or at least feel stuck in that profession once caught. Reason being is even if they WANT to go back to a normal life society won’t allow it. They stree treated as a sex offender even though they didn’t harm anyone. MOST Companies have a “no sexually related offenses” rule and while i’m 99% positive that’s supposed to refer to sex crimes as in rape or any of the other ones chay have a predator and or victim. I’m sure it wasn’t intended to include someone literally agreeing to something illegal or not. Long story short. I’m very overqualified for many jobs I applied to but for over a year ive had job after job rescind their offer once HR sees a solicitation charge. How is one expected to provide for oneself if NOONE will give them a chance? I personally find this crazy considering the girls themselves are usually the victims. How is it fair to punish them like a sex offender far as whether you hire them or not. SMH Just my 2 cents
