Wind advisory issued for west central, southwest Utah

ST. GEORGE — The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City issued a wind advisory forecasting gusts over 50 mph for parts of Southern Utah including Cedar City.

The advisory is in effect Thursday from noon until 9 p.m., with gusty conditions anticipated in west central and southwest Utah.

Areas cities are Delta, Fillmore, Beaver, Cedar City and Milford.  

Timing

South winds are expected to develop Thursday morning and increase to 25-35 mph through the afternoon. Winds will decrease by late evening. 

Precautions

Motorists in the advisory areas should be prepared for sudden gusts of wind, which can make driving difficult.
